Seattle Birth and Parenting Resources

hello

Hi! I'm laura-

Hi! I’m Laura. I’m a Seattle birth doula and certified personal trainer serving pregnant and postpartum clients. I want to help you and your partner advocate for a birth and postpartum that set a strong foundation for the rest of your life.

I come to birth work as a second career, after spending nearly two decades as a PhD-trained research scientist in academia. I made this pivot to birth work after my first pregnancy, experiencing firsthand the power of great labor support.

I choose to do this work because I wholeheartedly believe that you matter just as much as your sweet baby. I do this work because your experience and your long term emotional and physical health are important. And very importantly, I do this work because I love it. I love accompanying my clients on this transition from pregnancy to parenthood.

I have a closet full of degrees, certifications and experience that prepare me to take good care of you, but what matters even more is that we’ve got great chemistry. If you would like to talk more about birth support services and see if we’re a match, please contact me (below) to set up a free virtual meet and greet.

Kind Words

Laura is a fantastic doula and I would recommend her to anyone. Her knowledge and experience as a doula prior to and during the birth of my son far surpassed all of my expectations. I had a wonderful birth experience, and I owe much of that to the support I received from Laura.Leading up to the the birth, she maintained excellent communication and provided quick support for all of my questions and concerns. Luckily I went into labor on December 26, but Laura was available and ready at a moment’s notice to join me at the birth, even on Christmas day.Laura even helped me with prenatal exercises by sharing her own fitness videos to help me target the areas of concern I had, especially towards the end of pregnancy.Luckliy my baby was head down towards the end of the pregnancy, but I still felt additional security in Laura’s experience with Spinning Babies. If I am lucky enough to have another child, I would choose Laura as my doula again in a heartbeat.
